 January 2008

   Welcome Back

I have to admit that 2008 has quite sneaked up on me after a lovely Christmas holiday period. I hope you have had a wonderful holiday and, like me, are ready for another year of great music, meeting new friends, reacquainting yourself with old friends and immersing yourself in wonderful musical experiences.

Our 2007 Christmas Bumper Issue was a big hit and we had many very happy winners from each state we visit regularly. It was also lovely to hear from so many of you - I will have to get really creative this year to keep the prizes coming!

Now this is just a quickie newsletter to remind you that the first tour for 2008 is just around the corner.  I recommend the program very highly as it presents perhaps three of the most gifted composers of the Romantic era side by side, just as they were in life.  They touched each other's lives profoundly and each in a different way.  I love each work and feel they are amongst the best of their respective outputs. Come along and enjoy with us the genius of an ailing Schumann, a teenage Mendelssohn of staggering maturity, and a Brahms who pays tribute to the most important woman in his life, Clara Schumann, whose favourite piano quartet this is.

TRIOZ is delighted to welcome guest violist Irina Morozova to join us on this tour, and we are also very much looking forward to seeing each other again this very long break.

TRIOZ - Niki Vasilakis, Emma-Jane Murphy, Kathryn Selby

Till Next Time ...

I'll be back in touch again soon and will hope to welcome you to a concert in 2008. Just before I sign off, apparently the series 'A Little Lunch Music' is proving to be very popular, so to those who have chosen to come along to City Recital Hall for the lunchtime events, I thank you for this support and truly look forward to sharing more music with you.

Warm regards

Kathy
