Important Information for Patrons

Season 2021 Information

New 2021 Subscriber and Seating Information

Season Subscribers will continue to enjoy our popular substantial saving on single ticket prices across all venues. 2020 subscribers who subscribe by 27 January 2021 will also receive priority first choice seating and the option to retain their current seating locations in reserved seating venues should venue capacity and social distancing allow. Please note some venues may have capacity restrictions. Seating allocation for renewing subscribers will therefore be processed and allocated by order of receipt, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Where changes need to be made to allow for updated government regulations, we will do our best to seat you as close to your preferred seats as possible.

Patrons purchasing as a group larger than two people will be able to sit together in their chosen venue only if venue guidelines permit. Please refer to the Venue Information page for updated policies for your venue.

New this year: Chevalier College in the NSW Southern Highlands is now a reserved seating venue. 2020 subscribers will receive first choice seating, dictated by venue capacity guidelines if ticket orders are received by 27 January 2021. Orders will then be processed in order of receipt.

Venue capacity and COVID

Capacity restrictions in our venues means that we may have fewer tickets available than in previous years, so we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment!

Keeping us all safe: Selby & Friends is committed to keeping patrons, artists, staff, and our volunteers safe and well. To that end, we will have strict health and safety protocols in place in accordance with each venue’s regulations along with government rules, and patrons will be required to follow these protocols for everyone’s safety. All patrons will also be required to bring their own mask to attend concerts should they be required by the venue, state or federal regulations for indoor events. Masks will not be supplied at the entry to venues by Selby & Friends.

Selby & Friends requires all patrons to Check In to their venue using provided QR codes. Contact Tracing regulations will require this information. Please visit the Venue Information page for your venue for links to its specific COVID policy. If patrons do not have a mobile phone capable of checking in using the QR code, please bring a pen or pencil in order to manually sign in at the venue.

New contactless ticketing system

Our new ticketing procedure allows us to go contactless in all our venues. We will not be issuing paper tickets for our 2021 Season. We strongly encourage all patrons to use our online ticketing system. This is a secure portal, easy to understand and navigate, which allows patrons to use either a credit card payment through Paypal or your own Paypal account. For the first time, Selby & Friends will also make available purchases via direct deposit or EFT.

Tickets for 2021: After purchasing through our online portal, patrons will receive a receipt directly from Paypal.

A confirmation email from Selby & Friends, with all relevant seating information, will be sent to purchasers after the 27 January 2021 when the Priority Seating Subscriber Renewal period ends. This confirmation email will serve as your concert entry ticket.

As you enter the concert, you can present it in virtual form on your mobile device or bring a printout. You will also need to bring a form of identification (please see further information below). There will be no traditional paper tickets sent to you by mail.

Paying by EFT or Direct Deposit: you will need to fill in the Order Form found in the Season Brochure, complete with all patron contact details, and email it to Selby & Friends, or mail to Selby & Friends at PO Box 18, Northbridge, NSW, 2063. This will enable Selby & Friends to send a confirmation email, including seating placement, directly to you. Please note: Mail times vary so please account for this when mailing to Selby & Friends.

ID at point of entry

Patrons will be required to bring a form of identification to the concert along with the confirmation email from Selby & Friends to show at the entrance to the concert. No ID may result in not being admitted to the concert. Valid ID will consist of a driver’s licence, passport, Medicare card or credit card for the purchaser whose name appears on the ticket.

If single seating is available on the day of a performance, we will accept credit card payments only through a tap and go system at the box office. We will not accept any cash payments. Concert attendees will be required to check in to the venue as outlined above. This is to keep our patrons, staff, and volunteers safe at all times. Our website will have updated information on single seating availability prior to each tour.

Exchange and Refund

Selby & Friends does not offer refunds after purchase. However please note the following exceptions:

If you are unable to attend a Selby & Friends concert in our 2021 Season as a result of a COVID-19 related issue (e.g.forced closure of one of our venues, imposed isolation or quarantine, government regulations etc), patrons can elect to exchange for another concert in the 2021 Season, transfer the ticket to another person with adequate notice given to Selby & Friends prior to the concert, receive a refund of the ticket cost for that concert, or a credit note towards future concerts. Please refer to our Venue Information page for direct links to venues for updated information.

Concession card holders

As part of our terms and conditions of purchase for Senior, Student or Pensioner tickets, presentation of proof of concession status for all concession holders wishing to take advantage of the concession price is required at time of purchase either online or at the box office. Definition of concession status is a government issued Seniors or Pensioner card with valid number or Institutional Student ID.

Credit Notes from 2020 Season

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions in place for the live music entertainment industry throughout most of 2020, including the closure of venues, travel restrictions and social distancing requirements, rather than cancel performance tours Selby & Friends offered the alternative service of professionally filmed live concerts. In May, Selby & Friends brought out 'Let’s Get Personal' and continued throughout 2020 with 'Beethoven’s Ghost', 'Transfigured' and 'A Final Offering'. All were created to take the place of the cancelled live concerts. Selby & Friends was in a unique position to provide the alternative service of filmed live concerts due to the smaller ensemble formations and the availability of first-class Australian and international artists residing locally.

Complimentary access to the concerts and a host of extra special features were provided to all 2020 subscribers and single ticket holders.

Given the substitute service provided by Selby & Friends of filmed live concerts, whilst Selby & Friends was not obligated to automatically refund ticket holders as an alternative to the cancelled concerts was offered. we wanted to treat our valued patrons as fairly as possible. All patrons who did not wish to have access to the filmed live performances, or were unable to do so, were requested early in the cancelled season to apply for a refund or credit note for individual concerts provided a request was made prior to one week before the release of a filmed live concert. Given the unpredictable nature of the government restrictions and community health, we were unable to predict which concerts would be live and which would be filmed in advance. These patrons who contacted our office were then removed from our system for access to the online concerts.

Those patrons who did request and receive a credit note can use these now towards the 2021 Season.

We will not be providing credit notes for 2020 in retrospect. Only patrons who contacted our office before online concerts were released and requested not to have access to this Online Content can take advantage of a Credit Note.

Patrons with credit notes from the 2020 Season will need to email the original note supplied by Selby & Friends to or mail to PO Box 18, Northbridge, NSW, 2063 along with a fully completed 2021 Ticket Order form plus any additional payment to claim the credit towards the purchase of a 2021 subscription.
