Selby & Friends’ 2019 Season presents “titans of chamber music”!

Australia’s iconic & intimate chamber music series announces a 2019 season which celebrates the sonata and trio genre with “master musicians at the top of their game” from Australia and around the world! Selby & Friends is the only touring chamber music series in Australia that centres around one performer, pianist Kathryn Selby, with an ensemble cast of extraordinary and brilliant musical partners, dubbed in 2018 both “master musicians at the top of their game” and “titans of chamber music” in the critical music media.

This coming season, 2019, marks 30 years of innovative concert creation around Australia by Kathryn Selby, AM. With consistently rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, and continuous national and international broadcasts on ABC & MBS network radio, these joyous, intimate concerts continue to be treasured by audiences everywhere, whether they are hearing Selby & Friends for the first time or are loyal subscribers who’ve attended our concerts for many years.

Having presented so many stunning and engaging artists over the years, in 2019 Selby & Friends is delighted to welcome back brilliant Australian solo violinists Natalie Chee, Susie Park & Daniel Dodds with SSO Concertmaster Andrew Haveron. Adding to our superb artistic ensemble are favourite charismatic cellists, ACO Principal Timo-Veikko Valve, SSO Principal Umberto Clerici & Julian Smiles of Goldner Quartet fame. New to Selby & Friends in 2019 is the US-based bravura Australian cellist Richard Narroway who, with returning violin star Grace Clifford, joins our program to support outstanding young Australians on their professional journey.
